A kidney protein implicated in lʹhypertension

Hypertension affects one in three adults and is a major factor in cardiovascular disease. Researchers at the University of Geneva have studied the role of paracingulin, a protein involved in its development. Using a mouse model, they have shown that the absence of this protein attenuates hypertension. Their study confirms its key role and sheds light on its mechanisms.
