In Switzerland, one person in three, or even one in two, admits to not mastering simple digital tools, and confesses to having difficulty adapting to a life increasingly dependent on online procedures. Illiteracy makes simple everyday tasks difficult, such as sending or receiving a message, e-mail or photo, making a payment, buying a bus ticket... A handicap that leads to social exclusion and impoverishment. Contrary to popular belief, the digital divide is by no means confined to the elderly. Who are these digital "dropouts"? How can we help them get back on their feet? And what public policies are being implemented to combat digital illiteracy?
