They're invisible, highly resistant, and already present in our bodies. PFASs, also nicknamed "eternal pollutants", have been used for decades in many everyday objects: non-stick pans, waterproof textiles, food packaging or even fire-fighting foams. Their distinctive feature is that they persist for a very long time not only in the environment, but also in the human body.
