A study in French-speaking Switzerland documents the lasting consequences of sexual assault

A sexual assault does not stop at the moment of the incident. Its consequences can last for months, sometimes years. A vast multicenter study conducted in French-speaking Switzerland between 2022 and 2024 shows that, in a majority of victims followed for twelve months, the psychological, physical and sexual impacts remain significant long after the assault.
