Fake Pierre-Yves Maillard on social networks reveals legal loopholes around deepfakes

Deepfakes are now flooding social networks. Vaud State Councillor Pierre-Yves Maillard recently fell victim to one with a fake video of him advising on fraudulent investments. While calls for sanctions are multiplying, such misleading content remains difficult to combat legally.
